Find the Right Drawing Programs that is Right for You to Succeed in Drawing Digitally!

Finding the right drawing programs is essential for your success as an artist. There is a lot out there where knowing the majority of 2d drawing software will help you determine which is right for you and increase your desirability as an artist!

To start things off, digital artworks can fit into vector or raster images. What are these? It's quite simple.

Vector images are mathematical shapes that you can edit to make it look like an illustration. For example, the shape contains gradient data, boundary data, transparency data, etc.

The advantage is that you are not confined to a specific resolution. That is, you can use the same file and have it printed out on posters and billboards without any changes in quality and it automatically scale appropriately.

That means drawing programs that specialize in vector images are excellent for designer based work such as logos , technical illustrations, and gradient illustrations.

On the other side of the coin, raster images are conformed to a specific resolution size. If it's too small, you don't get good details. However, if it's too big, it will use a lot of your computer's resources.

But since you are editing the pixels on your screen directly in raster images instead of a mathematical formula, the advantage is that it is easier to paint and draw quickly on the computer just like real media!

Plus, quick edits and corrections are intuitive.

Since this site is focused on drawing and painting digitally, there will be an emphasis on raster type drawing programs.

What are the best options and what are the commons tools that make a good painting program?

Depending on your niche or specialty, we can further divide raster images into regular painting, photo correction, or photo manipulation.

All the programs that I am going to recommend have all the tools necessary to easily do drawing and painting on the computer. On the other hand, a few are better at photo correction and photo manipulation better than others!

You will also notice that Photoshop is not listed in this section and gets an entire section on its own. It is pretty obvious that Adobe Photoshop is the top dog that can do everything!

However, it is also quite expensive and it might be overkill for some. Instead, this section will talk about affordable alternatives that you use to draw and paint.

As well, I will teach you what tools to look for in each of these drawing programs that will allow you to draw and paint properly.

Of course, you can also move into the Photoshop section of this site if you have determined that it is the right program for your needs!
