About Erin Owens – Pencil Portrait Artist
Have you ever found a picture of yourself or of your loved ones that you just love and wished you had a portrait of it? Well that's what I do. My name is Erin Owens, and I take your photos and turn them into beautiful fine art pencil and watercolor portraits that last a lifetime!
Why do I make portraits? Because ever since I was a little girl it was my goal to be able to draw the human body as flawlessly as Michaelangelo or Leonardo Da Vinci, and to someday be able to do so without reference. That was a rather lofty ambition for a six-year-old, but in the pursuit of that goal I found that I truly loved making drawings of faces.
The human face is so challenging to draw, yet so fascinating. I feel as though through drawing my client's portrait I come to know them a little better. It's wonderful how they become transformed in my eyes as I put their faces in a drawing. And in that sense, it has helped in my own personal growth as a human being.
Erin Owens' Pencil Portrait Artist Services
I believe that my ability to draw was a gift from God, and I am to use it to bring healing and peace to His children. That was why I started doing memorial portraits and stillborn memorials. Every drawing I make I make in prayer for the client, especially on the memorials. I pray for healing and peace in their lives, and for God's love to soothe their grief.
As a woman that has been trying (and failing) to conceive for seven years, as well as suffering through two miscarriages, I am especially sensitive to the pain of new parents who have a tiny angel in heaven. Parents of stillborns often do not have a photo of their baby, and the ones that do often cannot show it.
So I hope to help these grieving parents by giving them a drawing of their little baby that they
can cherish for themselves, or show to friends. Having such a picture gives these parents a little bit of healing, and I am glad to help provide it.
As an pencil portrait artist, that means your commissioned portraits will be filled with the same
emotions and love that you have for those you hold dear because I depict the
radiance of life in all my drawings!
I am also sensitive to the financial needs of my clients, no matter what type of portrait is being requested. If you are able to pay the full price for a portrait, I certainly appreciate the money. These portraits definitely take a lot of time and very hard work to produce, and the materials are not cheap. However, if you would like a portrait but cannot afford the entire price, I will work with you and make your portrait(s) at a
price you can afford.
I will take payment plans, if that is easier for you, or make your portrait at a discounted rate. I want to be able to provide you with the
portrait you desire, whether you can pay the full price or just a few dollars, so please don't hesitate to ask for help on the price if needed!
I accept all forms of payment, with the exception that I can only accept credit/debit cards through PayPal. If you order before September 30th, I am offering a sale price on all watercolor and pencil portraits. There is a coupon on my site,
Artsy Erin's Portraits, and on merchant circle for 40% off all new portrait orders. You do NOT need to print the coupon, however, unless you want to. This discount will automatically be applied to all new orders, whether you have a coupon or not.
